Affiliate disclosure
How Carnet earns money, and how we tell you.
Carnet is an independent education brand. Some links on this site and in our videos are affiliate or referral links. If you use one, Carnet may earn a commission or a credit. You never pay more because of it.
In plain words
When a link is an affiliate or referral link, Carnet has a material connection with the company behind it: we may be paid if you click, sign up or buy. Canada's Competition Bureau expects creators to disclose that kind of connection clearly, close to the content, on every platform, so that you can weigh what we say accordingly. That is what this page, and the notices beside our links, are for.
Programs Carnet uses or intends to use
As of , Carnet has no active affiliate relationships, and the offer links on this site are placeholders. We intend to apply to the following programs. This list will be updated as each one approves or declines Carnet.
| Program | Network | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Rakuten.ca (cashback) | Rakuten Canada | Planned |
| Questrade | impact.com | Planned |
| Wealthsimple | impact.com | Planned |
| KOHO | impact.com | Planned |
| Amazon.ca | Amazon.ca Associates | Planned |
Once Carnet is accepted into the Amazon.ca Associates program, this statement applies: As an Amazon Associate, Carnet earns from qualifying purchases.
How we disclose
- On this site: a disclosure sits at the top of any page with affiliate links, and a short notice appears in the footer of every page.
- In videos: when a video features a product we have an affiliate link for, we say so out loud and on screen, and the caption includes plain wording such as “affiliate link — I may earn a commission,” or #ad / #affiliate. We use each platform's paid-partnership label where it applies.
- In link-in-bio lists: affiliate links are labelled individually, not only in a bio.
- Free products, trips or payments from any company are disclosed in the content they relate to.
What a commission does not change
- Notes are written from official sources and published terms, not from partner talking points. Partners do not review or approve our content.
- We do not sell rankings or placements. If an offer page orders products, the order is explained on that page.
- We include products we have no relationship with when they are relevant, and we point out fees, conditions and drawbacks of products we do have links for.
- Reviews and opinions are based on actual use. If we have not used a product, we say so.
Offer details
Bonuses, rates and terms change frequently, sometimes daily. Any figure we show will carry the date we checked it, and the provider's own terms always take precedence. Confirm the current terms on the provider's site before you apply.
